Amplified Oasis of the Seas Couples Review

Couple Alicia Mara and Leo Chan on the Oasis of the Seas Oasis of the Seas for a Couple | Full Guide

If you’ve been following us from the beginning, you’ll know how much we have come to love cruising. We’ve been to over 30 countries via cruising alone and over those trips we’ve come to believe it is one of the best ways to see the world. You have a moving home base (unpack only once!), nonstop entertainment at your fingertips, and incredible food options right on board. What’s not to love?

We were so excited to be invited by Royal Caribbean to experience their newly amplified, $165 million modernization of Oasis of the Seas on their 7-Night Eastern Caribbean cruise roundtrip from Miami, FL. Ports included Royal Caribbean’s private island Labadee in Haiti, St Maarten, and Puerto Rico. Whether you’re new to cruising or an experienced veteran you will love this ship’s lineup of adventures at sea as much as we did!

We have been together for over 8 years and have had our share of different dates. Now imagine a place where you can do all of those different date settings in one place. The Oasis of the Seas gives you 18 decks to explore and there is plenty to do, no matter your interests. Whether you’re a high-energy adventurous, "fitspo", or laid-back couple, here’s why we think the Oasis of the Seas is one of the most exciting ships, especially for couples.

THE NEIGHBORHOODS
We found Oasis of the Seas to be really unique because of their “neighborhoods” throughout the ship, 7 to be exact. One of our favorite areas included Central Park on Deck 8. Talk about a home away from home! We found this area to be really beautiful and relaxing. Take a romantic afternoon stroll through the park with its open-air enclave at the center of the ship, enjoy the greenery of endless live plants and trees (20,000 to be exact!). Elevate your night here with high-class dining options for extra romantic dates.

We also had a lot of fun at the Boardwalk on Deck 6. Imagine you’re on the Coney Island boardwalk, complete with a Carousel, Sports Bar & Arcade, Johnny Rockets, and enjoy your typical boardwalk delicacies of hotdogs and ice cream. Many a night did we find ourselves in this area for an evening scoop of salted caramel ice cream after enjoying a show, like the AquaTheatre located here.

We spent plenty of time soaking up the sun at The Solarium on Deck 15, which quickly became our favorite area of the ship to relax. An adults-only area with a focus on wellness, there is a healthy Mediterranean bistro, pools, hot tubs, an outdoor bar, and a great view from the front of the ship.

ENDLESS ADVENTURE
We personally tend to favor adventurous vacations, which is why we love cruising. Packing in as many different cities and countries is a thrill for us! You might not think the ship could also be an adventurous part of your vacation, but here the Oasis of the Seas comes in.

We had a lot of fun trying out all the slides the ship as to offer. Our favorite was The Ultimate Abyss going from the 17th deck to the 5th! There is also The Perfect Storm, a trio of waterslides. If you’re braver than us you would also love the nine-deck high ZIP LINE! You read that correctly. A zip line on a ship!

We made friends with another couple on the ship and had a lot of fun doing group activities together. Our favorites were the Royal Escape Room - Mission Control: Apollo 18. This was our first escape room experience and it exceeded all expectations. It was complex, extremely fun, and was our activity highlight. Other notable activities include the Glow-in-the-dark laser tag, karaoke bar, and Silent Disco Night.

On the Oasis of the Seas, cruising doesn’t mean packing on the pounds. While we like to indulge a bit on vacation, we also feel our best when we can get some exercise in. We loved that the ship has a fully equipped gym and spa, rock-climbing walls, and FlowRider surf simulators.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE OFFERINGS

Oasis of the Seas has a huge range of food and beverage options and was by far the most choices we have ever come across on a ship. With more than 20 dining options, they truly had every food and beverage option you can imagine, for any budget. Whether you're looking for something casual, or something with the right vibe for date night, here are our top highlights.

Our top highlight is the Vitality Cafe. Here they offered protein shakes, fresh-pressed juice, and espresso, of course, included in the beverage package. We started every morning off here and was an every day can’t miss highlight for us. We also really enjoyed the dining at The Solarium where they have a healthy Mediterranean bistro focus. Another stand out meal was at the Portside BBQ, Royal’s first-ever barbecue restaurant at sea and El Loco Fresh because what is better than Mexican food?
There are many standout bars on this ship, such as the poolside signature bar The Lime & Coconut, the Rising Tides bar which moves up and down between floors, but the highlight was truly the Bionic Bar. Manned by two robot bartenders you order your drink from a tablet and the duo of robot bartenders prepare your cocktails!

THE ROOMS
We had a beautiful balcony room which was very modern and spacious. We had plenty of space to unpack our suitcases into the drawers and closet, our suitcases fitting under the bed. We found the balcony to be more private than most we have had in the past. Our tip for a romantic morning? Order room service and enjoy from the privacy of your room!

ENTERTAINMENT No matter your taste, everyone will enjoy the iconic AquaTheater, the oceanfront performance venue that showcases high-diving, acrobatic and aerial shows at the deepest pool at sea. Another highlight was the Ice Skating show. We have never before heard of an ice skating show on a ship and it was truly mind-blowing! Our tip? Try and see all the shows you’re interested in at the beginning of your trip. Unfortunately, we encountered rocky sea conditions at the end of our trip and the Aquashow had to be canceled.

We also love that Royal Caribbean has the fastest wifi available at sea, VOOM. Upload your photos in real-time to cause everyone to have FOMO.

  3. In fact, I was already tired of living alone and that's why I wanted to find a soul mate for myself. I decided I wanted to do it through a dating site, and https://twitter.com/My_SpecialDates . So I was able to find a good dating site. There are quite a lot of people there, and among them, I think I can find a suitable partner for me! I recommend you to do the same if you are looking for your love!

  4. No way, that's awesome! I'm jealous, man. Wish I could stumble upon a cool chick myself. Just came across this piece by Joe Elvin about diving into the dating with Hungarian brides – check it out: https://finddate.org/hungarian-brides/. What's the vibe you're getting from this article?
