Best Instagram Spots in Copenhagen | 1 Day Itinerary

We were in Copenhagen, Denmark for less than 24 hours before we boarded our Baltic Sea Cruise with Royal Caribbean. We intentionally flew in a day early to ensure we could have some time to explore the city before boarding. We stayed at Adina Apartment Hotel Copenhagen, not far from the city center for the walkability. Even though we had such a short time to see the city, we really enjoyed it! Copenhagen is one of those unique spots where for part of the year it hardly gets dark - experiencing only 4 hours of darkness is a tourist attraction in itself. Here are our favorite Instagrammable spots in the city that you can see in less than 24 hours!

I. Nyhaven

The harborfront is perhaps the most iconic spot in the city. When you think of Copenhagen, most likely this is the place that comes to mind. Bright and colorful buildings line this photogenic waterfront canal. This was definitely our favorite photo spot in the city.

II. St. Alban's Church

If you have time and are interested in architecture, St. Alban's Church is another unique Copenhagen landmark with stunning design. With the fountain outside, it makes the perfect photo spot and is quite a romantic spot.

III. King's Garden (Rosenborg Garden)

This is another major Copenhagen landmark which, depending on which time of the year you're visiting, greets you with stunning flower blooms and for a relaxing, nature-filled afternoon.

IV. Amalienborg Palace

The palace is the seat of the Danish royal family. If time permits, try to be there for the changing of the guard which happens daily at 12:00pm.

V. The Little Mermaid (& Other Small Attractions)

Gifted to the city in 1913, the statue is one of the must-see monuments in Copenhagen. She perches on the rock and welcomes visitors to the harbor - how perfect was this for our pre-cruise sightsee? Once you hit the city center just wander and enjoy. We stumbled across these little photo spots while just wandering about the streets.
