Remember a few weeks ago when it was 60 degrees out of nowhere in NYC then next day came a snowstorm? Yeah needless to say I am ready for Winter to be over and looking forward to Spring already. Then this past weekend we hit spring weather again and this time it looks like it's going to stay. I’ve teamed up with Slate Denim to show you three simple ways to start transitioning your wardrobe towards Spring styles.
1. Brighter (+ Pattern) Shirt - It’s not quite warm enough yet to ditch our coats so the topcoats and sweaters can stay. One easy way to transition to Spring style is switching your base layer. Change it up with a brighter pattern and a lighter fabric. I paired the camel topcoat with a blue checkered shirt because the colors go well together and the pattern is a nice way to brighten up the mood. I finished off the first look with a dark denim and pair of boots.
2. Lighter Denim - Speaking of denim, going for a lighter color wash instantly changes the whole look. The light denim is a staple for the Spring/Summer season so more the reason to start rocking them now. The lighter color brightens the outfit in a nice casual way. I paired it with one of my favorite jackets - the shearling leather jacket. When that middle winter-spring temperature hits and you still want to wear your favorite jacket, the light denim is perfect way to balance the transition period.
3. Switch up to white sneakers - Last but not least, the crisp sharp white sneakers is a sure way to say Spring is coming (or here!) Slowly start putting away the boots and time for the sneakers on the streets again. The white sneaker is an obvious way to go!
